We want grown children to become freer of worries and to stay in touch with their elderly parents. Our personal experience with elderly parents led us to start the development of our One Button Phone because existing communication solutions were not designed from the perspective of an elderly person living alone.
Many elderly have problems choosing from among multiple choices – even just two choices. Existing wrist and smart phones are inconvenient for the elderly and are difficult to operate. Furthermore, existing emergency notification solutions are based on the misconception that the elderly will take the initiative to call. They disregard the psychological barrier of the elderly to call strangers. In addition, no one likes long-term binding contracts for costly emergency monitoring services. The One Button Phone enables reliable and frequent communication with one’s elderly parent instead of just infrequent emergency calls.
The One Button Phone is inexpensive, convenient and uncoupled from costly emergency monitoring services.
You and your elderly relatives will appreciate the easiest mobile phone in the world to use. The phone has a functional but yet stylish design that does not resemble a clunky monitoring device. The high-quality phone has excellent sound quality, long battery life, cordless charging, splash water resistance and hands-free features. The ergonomics and functionality of the phone are tailored to users with restricted dexterity and mobility. The impressive voice quality and long battery stand-by time are achieved by the patented manner in which the electronics are integrated into the wristband. Our compact and curved design allows for a variety of style options and positions the One Button Phone to become a coveted collector’s item that is perceived as jewelry.
Who else will appreciate its advantages?
Besides providing elderly or less mobile relatives with an easy-to-use communication option the One Button Phone offers advantages for a lot of other occasions. So care homes will appreciate its easy functionalities for their residents being active without accompaniment or for residents with dementia. Parents can use it to stay in touch with their young children relieving their worries. The One Button Phone is as well perfect for workers or sportsmen, who do not want to or cannot handle complicated mobile or smart phones during their activities. Furthermore the One Button Phone is a perfect communication and marketing device for organizers of group travel, fairs and other events. In fact, everyone can think of situations in his or her daily life in which the One Button Phone would be a convenient alternative to a cell phone.
Idea / Background
Our personal experience led us the idea of the One Button Phone. Over years we faced the problem that each of our elderly remaining parents lived alone hundreds of miles away from us. Being over eighty and living alone is a challenge – as well for the caring relatives. Typically a son or granddaughter wants to call his father or grandmother perhaps once a day to check whether everything is so far running without problems. With the moment your elderly relative does not answer your call the worries start to rise. You try it again – and again. What to do? For sure you know the feeling of helplessness when being in uncertainty. What amount of money would you spend at that moment to get relief of your worries and be in touch with your loved one? So we tried to find a wrist mobile phone solution for elderly to solve this problem. Astonishingly all products on the market do not take into account elderly or handicapped. The existing wrist or smartphones need to be operated via Bluetooth with another mobile, or they are very complicated to operate for elderly, difficult to charge, have low voice hands-free quality, or are just too big and inconvenient. Being in the mobile development and business in the 1990s we have the experience in developing mobile devices. So we created the idea to set to life the One Button Phone by ourselves – a perfect device considering the needs of elderly living alone and their relatives.
